How does Fitness work in your life?
How did fitness find you? or Better yet How did you change your mindset to make fitness a priority?
I found fitness with finding myself.
have you ever caught yourself emerging your whole being into a passion to detour yourself from the life you are living?
I found my fitness career in the time I was unhappy in my marriage.
while not being happy within the way I wanted and perceived I should look like, while holding extra weight I carried from my having my son, even though my child sat at age 6.
Are you a goal setter? I am.
To lose weight or any goal I want to achieve I need a motivator behind me.
A goal that I would attain no matter what. I chose bodybuilding. My outside activity got me attached with the love for pushing some massive weight. I loved the feel of being strong, independent, and the means of controlling something in my life that I honroed.
I pushed towards my goal, setting up my plan to conquer my weight, stage fright, and to prove others wrong with attaining my Pro card.
The feeling of getting into shape, the feeling of watching how I could transform anything I wanted with just the right mind, dedication, and the right diet. I was unstoppable.
My life was fitness, my career but most of all my son. Living in a household that I was miserable in. My happiness came from those three things in my life. The place that made me feel alive, the gym.
Molding my body for my first show, feeling the anticipation of my hard work, before I stepped on stage. I listened to that last motivational tune from my earphones, motivation to allow me to step on stage as a whole new version of myself and to envision the defeat I had concurred.
Within the long day of water depleted overindulgence of carbs and burgers, I placed 2nd at my very first NPC Figure show. Competing with an outstanding woman that had the same drive as myself I knew that My life would change from that day forward. I was hooked in fitness, hooked into the life of adrenaline, the anticipation of all my blood, sweat, and tears.
I stepped into a whole new arena. Without the backing behind me, I plunged forward into traveling to obtain my next goal, IFBB Pro Card. Every person and I mean every person in my life discouraged me. The comments I heard to “Don’t be upset if you don’t win, to it is too hard to compete at that level.” The list goes on and on.
Unlike others, I feed off that shit. You tell me no, you tell me it’s impossible. I show you that impossibility is not in my vocabulary. As I partook in the prep toward my pro card. The dedication of running my business raising a son and the detour it helped in my marriage. I dug in deeper and excelled.
Over 6 years ago, I stood on stage taking my first place Trophy with 29 girls in my class that had as much passion as myself.
I did it.
My second show ever in Figure and I became an IFBB Pro Figure competitor.
Moral of this story,
Don’t’ ever let anyone dictate the fact you cannot achieve dreams, goals, and aspirations in your life. If you want something enough,
want doesn’t sit in your way.
You make it happen.
